The Rat in the Flat Diaries #2 The Hedgehog

The Hedgehog

Some unknown time in the past my mother had bought me a stuffed hedgehog and placed this somewhere in the flat. Today I found it in the bathroom, lying on the floor, its ear chewed off. I decided to take a photo of it and check it the next day to see if it was in the same position.

Of course, the following day I noticed a slight change of positioning of the body, and to my horror, the hedgehog’s fluffy guts splain across the linoleum. What was a happy hedgehog only days before was now completely limbless and dead.

Immediately it became abundantly clear that the mystery perpetrator had fallen in love with the hedgehog, and not knowing how to show its affection –and in a way that was evocative of Shakespearean tragedy– got overexcited, murdered it in cold blood and butchered its carcass.

I said a prayer for the victim of this unfortunate event and then prepared for the next stage of my investigation…
